Jūlija Jerņeva, LL.M. is an EU law, competition, employment and M&A attorney. Jūlija’s competition practice includes focus on mergers and acquisitions, which require prior review and approval by the Latvian Competition Council. She also regularly advises multinational companies involved in cartel and abuse of dominance investigations.

Jūlija currently researches exclusionary pricing abuses by companies holding a dominant position as part of her PhD. She also teaches EU competition law, State aid and EU External relations in Riga Graduate School of Law. In addition to her competition practice, Jūlija regularly advises clients on employee rights in the event of transfer of undertakings, mobbing, sexual harassment and employee discrimination. She also assists clients in their relations with trade unions.

Advising Iepirkumu grupa SIA concerning interpretation of specific provisions of the Unfair Retail Practices Prohibition Law.

Act for a leading construction company in litigation regarding performance of a 0.6 Mio EUR FIDIC contract. The court heard chemical expert witnesses during the proceedings and we helped the client to highlight their mistakes. The case also involved matters of performance guarantees. The case is currently before the Supreme Court.

Acting on behalf of Latvian Food Retailers' Association in lobbying process before the Parliament of Republic of Latvia regarding adoption of the Unfair Retail Practices Prohibition Law.

Assisting NGO INKO CENTRS in termination of employment relations with several employees.
