Profile

Everts Krauklis, Bac.iur. assists clients on a wide range of administrative law matters, assisting them at all stages of the administrative process – from the preparation for administrative proceedings and representation before administrative authorities, to administrative litigation before the courts, as well as the enforcement of administrative acts and court decisions.

Everts’ specialisation in national and international human rights enables an in-depth assessment of competing interests in each case and more effective resolution of client matters across practice areas, including disputes with public authorities within administrative proceedings, cases related to medical law, proceedings before the Constitutional Court, and cases before international human rights institutions. Everts also assists clients on matters related to real estate and construction.

Everts has assisted in the creation of an association of Latvian manufacturers of aerial military equipment. He assisted in advising a client on a complex and unique request to suspend proceedings due to constitutional concerns, resulting in the appellate court suspending the case and referring it to the Constitutional Court. Everts has also assisted East Capital Real Estate Fund IV with various legal matters related to the acquisition of 100% of the shares in SIA “Deglava Real Estate,” and has also assisted Civinity on the acquisition of shares in Mobilly, Latvia’s leading mobile payment provider.

Everts has gained professional experience working in law firms and worked as a Judicial Assistant to Judge Anita Kovaļevska and Judge Rudīte Vīduša at the Administrative Cases Department of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Latvia. In this role, his responsibilities included analysing cassation complaints, drafting court decisions, developing case-law, and conducting in-depth legal research, carefully assessing the impact of each case outcome on the legal system as a whole.

Everts is pursuing a master’s degree, with a thesis in human rights focused on risks posed by disinformation to elections and the state’s obligations to prevent them.
