The VILGERTS team is advising Terrabalt, a leading port operator in Liepāja with a long-standing contribution to the port’s growth and efficiency, on its acquisition by the international ferry operator Stena Line.   Once the deal is closed, Stena Line shall take over the operations of the Liepāja port terminal.

The acquisition remains subject to receiving approval by the Latvian Competition Council and other regulatory institutions. Until then, the terminals will continue to be operated by the current owner, a private investor from Liepāja, Latvia. The commercial terms of the agreement are not disclosed.

This landmark transaction strengthens Stena Line’s presence in the Baltic region and marks a significant step in the development of the Liepāja port.
