Producers and importers must ensure that the packaging of their products placed on the Lithuanian market are labelled in accordance with the requirements prescribed in the Law on Management of Packaging and Packaging Waste of the Republic of Lithuania, approved by Order No. D1-225 of the Minister of Environment.  Products packed in a packaging whose label does not indicate the nature of the materials used in the packaging, can be supplied to the Lithuanian market no longer than until 30th April 2019.

The packaging of products must be labelled indicating the materials used to make the packaging or a special marking must be assigned to the particular substances or group codes used. The label which indicates the materials used to make the packaging, must be on the label or packaging itself, it must be clearly visible, easily legible, durable and intact even after the packaging has been opened.
